“Playing it forward,” a concept popularized by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, encourages golfers to use tees that suit their skill level, enhancing enjoyment and pace of play. Today, I embraced this by playing from the green tees, a significant shift that, while challenging to my self-image, resulted in one of my best and most enjoyable rounds in years. This experience, akin to getting an electric bike or accepting a subway seat, helped me accept the realities of aging.
