I flew across the country for what some might consider a small occasion—my four-year-old granddaughter Edie’s preschool graduation—but watching her receive her diploma reminded me that love has its own way of measuring what matters. Sometimes life’s most meaningful moments are not the grand milestones, but the simple ones when we choose to be present for the people we love—and I would not have missed this one for the world.
