Desert hairy scorpion

Recently, I embarked on a nighttime hike in the Sonoran Desert, driven by a curiosity to see the “desert hairy scorpion” up close. Organized by Friends of the Desert Mountains, this hike introduced me to the largest scorpion in North America, known for its sensory hairs, nocturnal hunting, and fascinating fluorescence under UV light. The experience not only satisfied my curiosity but also taught me about the unique adaptations and behaviors of this intriguing creature.
