In Amsterdam, Bikes Rule — and Sometimes Bloom

During my recent visit to Amsterdam, I was struck by how bicycles are integral to daily life—practical, unpretentious, and everywhere. Among the sea of utilitarian bikes, I discovered the enchanting “flower bikes” crafted by Warren Gregory, whose vibrant creations began as a heartfelt gesture for his wife and have since blossomed into symbols of love and community spirit throughout the city. Experiencing Amsterdam’s bike culture firsthand made me reflect on how urban spaces can thrive when designed around people rather than cars.
