I just experienced my very first manicure and pedicure at Nordstrom in downtown Seattle and, as someone who’s always thought of myself as a rugged, outdoorsy guy, it completely took me out of my comfort zone. What started as a romantic gesture for someone special turned into an unexpectedly relaxing moment that taught me to say “yes” to new experiences—even if they don’t fit my usual self-image—because I came out of it feeling good and connected.
