Purple Cow

I recently had the pleasure of attending a mini reunion at my alma mater, Williams College, known for its unusual mascot – a purple cow. While it may seem eccentric compared to the more common mascots like bulldogs or wildcats, the purple cow holds a special charm for several reasons. Firstly, in the age of commercialized college sports, it’s a refreshing reminder that the essence of the game is pure enjoyment. Secondly, the color purple carries a wealth of symbolic meanings, from wisdom and spirituality to independence and creativity. Additionally, the cow itself is a revered symbol in many cultures, signifying life, motherhood, and generosity. Lastly, the purple cow has left its mark on popular culture, even inspiring a book on remarkable marketing by Seth Godin. It’s clear to me that the purple cow deserves its place of honor and celebration!
