
Three weekends ago, I landed in the hospital after a frightening bout of severe dehydration that left me dizzy, nauseous, and vulnerable. What started as a whisper—lightheadedness—quickly escalated into a shout that forced me to confront my own mortality as I lay in a hospital bed, watching my children’s worried faces. The experience reminded me to drink more water, yes, but even more importantly, to cherish the people I love and the fleeting moments we share.
